Pool Maintenance

The works required to be carried out in the open swimming pools within the Central Anatolian Region during the winter conditions.

  1. The water level of the pool is decreased to 20 cm in order to reduce the ice pressure.
  2. Frost preventive tubes (ice paddings) are used in order to reduce the pressure of the ice on the surface of the swimming pool.
  3. Balance depots are evacuated in overflowing pools.
  4. The feed, base, intake and vacuum valves settled in the machine section of the pool are turned to the off /closed condition.
  5. The water remaining within the pool filtration equipments are evacuated with the help of discharge plugs.
  6. The chlorine tablet remaining within the chlorinator are evacuated.
    The chemical substance cans are evacuated if automatic disinfection is available.
  7. The dosage hoses are ripped and the water inside the hoses is drained.
  8. Dosage check valves are controlled.
  9. The electrodes are dismantled with the electrod store keeping water inside and are reserved in a condition that will prevent frost.
  10. The pool sluice girds are collected and stored to be used in the following season.
  11. The stairs, divingboards and other equipments of the pool are dismantled and stored in appropriate conditions.
  12. Maintenance chemicals for the winter conditions should be used in order to prevent moss and formation of bacteria.
  13. 1.5 lt winter maintenance chemicals should be applied in 100 m3 water. (if the winter conditions are warmer than the normal seasons, the winter maintenance chemicals can be used in two periods)
  14. After these operations are done, the pool should be protected with a canvas.
